Vitamin D Supplementation
West Cheshire NHS CCG has asked us to stop prescribing Vitamin D supplementation, due to the need for local CCG's to reduce their prescribing budget and save money for the NHS. They are therefore asking patients to buy their Vitamin D supplementation from Chemists, which can be purchased relatively cheaply. From February 2017 we will therefore no longer be prescribing Vitamin D supplementation, commonly know as Desunin or Colecalciferol.
IMPORTANT: Annual Flu Vaccinations
If you are aged 65 or over, or in one of the 'at risk' groups, please contact the surgery to make an appointment. Make sure you are protected for the winter and book your appointment NOW. At risk groups are: A carer; pregnant; or suffer from a long term condition e.g. chronic respiratory disease; chronic heart disease; chronic renal disease; diabetes; impaired immune system. If you have not already received a pneumonia vaccination and are 65 or over, or in one of the at risk groups above it is advised that you are offered a pneumonia vaccination as well.
During January 2017 there were 117 missed appointments PLEASE let us know as soon as you can if you cannot attend your appointment. Your appointment can then be allocated to someone else.
We are pleased to announce that we have a Nurse Clinician, Jane Webb, starting at the surgery on Tuesday 3rd May 2016. Please see section under Appointments for further details.
PHYSIO FIRST – Self Referral
If you are suffering from one of the following problems, you can see a physio at the pratice, without seeing a GP:
- Sprains and strains
- Joint arthritis
- Back pain
- Neck pai
- Trapped nerves
Named Accountable GP: The GP contract for 2015-16 now requires practices to allocate a named, accountable GP for all patients (including children) who will take lead responsibility for the co-ordination of all appropriate services required under the contact. When patients see a GP or Nurse they will be advised of their accountable GP. This does not prevent you from seeing any other GP in the practice as you will still be able to make an appointment with any of our Doctors.
Please help the doctors by following these guidelines:
- Please arrive promptly for your appointment.
- Please don't waste appointments. Let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.
- If you change your name, address or telephone number please inform the receptionist.
- Illnesses are unpredictable and urgent calls can upset the best appointment system - please be patient.
